*Rimmel Eyebrow Pencil in Dark Brown *Rimmel Stay Matte Long Lasting Pressed Powder
*Barry M Nail Varnish in Peach Melba
*Mac Cremesheen Lipsticks Dare You and Creme Cup

This was the first time I've tried the Rimmel Stay Matte Long Lasting Pressed Powder and I have to say it does the job quite nicely and works well on my, sometimes, oily t-zone.

I recently grew in my eyebrows so I could have them threaded and I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say the lady butchered them!!!! I was pretty gutted as it was so hard to go 3 weeks without touching them, all in the quest for nice, reasonably thick, well shaped brows. Instead I was left with the eyebrows I had in high school (over plucked, pencil thin, clown eyebrows). With brow kits and pencils available, it wasn't the end of the world but because there was so little of my eyebrows left that the pencil I had was too light. I hadn't been able to find my usual Rimmel pencil for ages and the darkest they had was Dark Brown for a while but I managed to find it in Black Brown and this does the job so much better.

When I was clearing out some of my beauty products, I came across 13 empty Mac containers which I had forgotten about. I took 12 of them along to their counter and was told I could get two lipsticks for free in return as they recycle them. At £14.00 each, that's quite impressive!

This is Creme Cup which can provide a quite natural look or you can build up the colour like I have here.
I was looking for a deeper/darker red than the Russia Red I already have, so I went with this one named Dare You. I find the cremesheen lipsticks perfect for me as they look dry on my lips.

After wearing a lot of red and darker colours this winter I was looking for a lighter and brighter coloured nail varnish.

I love this Barry M varnish in Peach Melba

That's all for now. xxx

Being Resourceful

So like many people over the festive season I indulged in sale shopping, mostly online (I was too lazy to go out in the cold, plus it feels like Christmas again when I receive lots of parcels!). Whilst the sales are a great opportunity to increase your clothes collection without breaking the bank, this can lead to an overcrowded, unorganised wardrobe. So I made a deal with myself that for every item I bought, I would get rid of a piece of clothing in my existing wardrobe. I took this as a chance to make my old clothes pay for my new stuff.

Anything that hadn't been worn in a year or was a firm favourite but was worn out as a result, had to go. I found myself wondering why I even owned half the things I did, not necessarily because they weren't nice but because my style had changed.

I was going to use three different methods to sell my unwanted goods. The first was eBay, which I like to use for clothes/shoes in good condition.  Facebay, which is like an eBay but on Facebook but is free (no insertion/final value fees) and is cash in hand, which I like to use for clothes bundles as people collect in person so they don't have the added charge of postage which can be higher for bundles. If you type in the name of your local area after Facebay in Facebook's search engine, the page best suited for your location should come up. And finally cash4clothes which I use for items that are not in great condition but still wearable, which pays around 50p per kilo. It's not much but the way I see it is, I was going to throw the stuff out anyway so at least I get something for them! There are different versions of this kind of shop all over the country and most towns and cities tend to have them now.

I sorted everything into piles and took pictures of the things I wanted to sell online.

For eBay, I like to show the clothes worn with things that complement the items I'm selling.

Sometimes I picture the clothes laid flat as this saves time if I'm in a hurry. I like to do this for the items I sell on Facebay.

Then I just bag the unsellable things and hand them in to my nearest cash4clothes.

With this done, I was left a de-cluttered wardrobe, made back the money I had spent in the sales and had some change in my pocket. Who can say I'm not resourceful?!!!!

P.S: some of the items above are listed on eBay right now. So if you like anything you see, please click on the link at the top of the page. xxx

I'm Back!

So, we are almost at the end of February and this is my first entry of the year. Tut tut. I had a lot going on in December, had a quiet time in January (the most depressing month of the year!) and then I got sick at the beginning of this month. However, here I am, nearly two months into 2013 and I feel the need to get blogging again.

I will have my first post up this weekend.

I know it's a bit...hmm, very late but Happy New Year !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!LOL
